Don’t Miss The 6th Season of Homicide Hunter Returning August 24!

ID’S HIT SERIES, HOMICIDE HUNTER: LT. JOE KENDA RETURNS FOR A SIXTH SEASON AS KENDA DELVES INTO THE MURDER CASES THAT STILL HAUNT HIM

(Silver Spring, Md.) – Investigation Discovery (ID) will premiere the sixth season of its franchise hit series, HOMICIDE HUNTER: LT. JOE KENDA on Wednesday, August 24 at 10/9c. After more than two decades of catching killers with the Colorado Springs Police Department and with one of the highest closure rates in the country, Lieutenant Joe Kenda has memories that two decades of retirement and even the best therapist in the country can’t bury.

In Homicide Hunter- Joe Opens Up

Kenda opens up to the camera to reveal vivid memories of the most disturbing murders still haunting him today. The result is a personal journey for Kenda as he chips away at the long-suppressed nightmares that have plagued him for so long, re-opening his “murder books” for viewers – folders in which every detail of his murder cases is held – to revisit each case and detail the beats and process of how he solved each crime.

Avert Your Eyes

In the premiere episode, “Avert Your Eyes” airing Wednesday, August 24 at 10/9c, Lt. Kenda explores the shocking case of Pamela Edwards, a beloved mother shot and killed in her own home with her young daughters upstairs. When Kenda arrives to the house, his first task is to shield her daughters from the horrendous scene. Seeing their pain only strengthens his determination to find the killer, and when they close in on him, the story ends with an intense foot chase across Colorado Springs. Additional cases covered this season include one where a dog finds a dismembered head, and Kenda’s very first case as a rookie beat cop, where Kenda was shot at in the line of duty.

“Emotion has the terrible habit of overcoming your judgment. Humans recover from emotional events. But if you introduce a gun, no one is going to recover. They’re just going to die.” – Lt. Joe Kenda

HOMICIDE HUNTER: LT. JOE KENDA is produced by Jupiter Entertainment for Investigation Discovery. For ID, Thomas Cutler is senior executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production and Henry Schleiff is Group President, Investigation Discovery, American Heroes Channel, and Destination America.
